I’m back and hopefully will be for good. My finger is feeling better every day although there are days when if I bump it, it hurts like… you know. This week will be the first week where I am trying to get myself back into using my finger more, including when it comes to typing. It’s funny how you get so used to not using something that it takes actual mental thought to start using it again.
As I previously stated in my blog, I’m using the start of the school year as a new start in my writing. I still have some projects that need finished up due to my finger injury, but besides them, my focus is going to me more on my own projects. My freelance writing assignments are slowly coming to an end and I’m seriously thinking that I might not take any more on. One reason being that I have a couple of other projects that I need to start focusing more time on.
My main focus needs to be with my novel. I want to be able to put my full focus on my own project and not on other people’s writing assignments. Primarily my novel, Enchanted Objects. I want to have a full fledge outline and ready to write starting November 1st. The main reason being that this is my project for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) this year. I’m excited about it this year for a number of reasons.
This will be the first year where I am fully into the novel I am writing. The other years they haven’t been prepared and I didn’t care if I succeeded or not. This year it is a completely different story. Not only am I participating in NaNoWriMo, I have also been accepted as a Municipal Liaison for my area. This means I get to host NaNoWriMo events as well as encouraging other writers to complete their projects.
I’m both excited about having this privilege and a little nervous. I’m not one who typically is very social and to host social events can be a little nerve-wrecking to me, but I am determined to make these events beneficial to all writers who attend. I’ll have more to write about NaNoWriMo as the time grows closer.
Another activity that I am preparing for is the start of a new radio program where I am going to be the producer. I did this a little over a year ago and loved the experience. When the opportunity arose for me to do it again, I was eager to accept. Luckily, the show has been pushed back to start in January, but there is a great deal of work to do before the show actually starts.
For the next two weeks, my focus is going to be on completing my freelance work. Once these are out of the way, I can then delve into my own projects.
As you can see, I have a great deal of projects going on. This means that I need to make sure that I am actually working on my writing. This will be where this blog will come in. I’m still planning to use this blog as a way to keep myself accountable for my writing. Instead of the daily blogs, I’m going to try and do one each week that basically makes me accountable for what I have done the previous week. But instead of just talking about what I had done, I will go more in depth about the challenges and issues I have faced during this process.
Well, my finger is starting to bother me so I am going to call it a night on my typing.
Until next week. Keep writing!
